HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – If your child has asthma and loves simple mobile games, you’re going to love the app Wellapets.

The app, free for Apple and Android devices, teaches kids how to care for their asthma condition using virtual pets.

Here’s how it works.

A user fires up the app from LifeGuard Games, Inc. and “hatches” one of several fire-breathing dragon pets. After giving them a name, the user can then guide their pet through a number of asthma-related challenges like learning to use an inhaler or cleaning up a dirty room.
