1 Person Dead, Another Seriously Hurt After Accident in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Scottsboro man is dead after an early morning accident on Jackson County 357.

22-year-old Gary Parson was a passenger of a car that left the roadway and hit a tree 2 miles east of Pisgah. State Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

The driver, 23-year-old Winston Parson suffered life-threatening injuries from the crash. Emergency crews transported him to Huntsville Hospital by helicopter. State Troopers say Parson was also not wearing a seat belt.

Alabama State Troopers will continue to investigate what caused the accident.
