DeKalb County Storm Damage

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – There are just a few days left for April’s severe weather victims in DeKalb County to register for financial help from FEMA.

Survivors have until Saturday May 24th to sign up.

DeKalb County is a part of the federally declared disaster zone. Which entitles residents to federal money set aside to help them with house repairs and other necessities.

The disaster recovery center is set up at Sardis City Hall in Boaz. It will close on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

You can register for financial assistance online or at the disaster recovery center.

You can call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA.

If those options don’t work for you, call the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency at 256-845-8569 for help.

    Please let it be known that if the residents miss visiting the disaster recovery center, they can also apply by phone FEMA 1-800-621-3362 and SBA 1-800-659-2955 TTY line for the hearing and visually impaired 800-877-8339 the customer service representatives also have both English and Spanish speakers ready to assist. The residents can also apply online FEMA http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov. and SBA http://www.sba.gov/ELA. We ask that any and all residents affected by the federally declared disaster for the State of Alabama, to PLEASE register. No matter how small your damage or whether or not you have insurance, PLEASE register. Homeowners, Renters, Businesses, everyone can register. If you have any questions please call the 800 numbers and the customer service representatives will be happy to assist.
