ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A teenager has died following a wreck late Monday night outside of Albertville.

State Troopers say the single vehicle accident happened when the driver of a car lost control on Highpoint Road.  The car flipped several times.

Cherokee Williams, 18, died Tuesday at Huntsville Hospital.

Another teen, Tashia Blanks, is listed in good condition at the hospital.  Both girls were flown there late Monday.

The driver of the vehicle, David Chappell, and Jake Blanks were also hurt, but not as seriously.  Chappell was treated and released from Marshall Medical Center South.

All four are under the age of 19.  We understand all had either graduated from Douglas High School or attended classes there at one time.

Alabama State Troopers say speed was a factor in the crash.

I pray for all that were involved in this horrible accident and their families. I don’t know any of them, but being someone who has had friends die from similar accidents, I know and can understand their pain.

May God’s loving arms hold each of them tight, as they deal with this very trying time.

Praying for her family. Almost 5 yrs. ago, we lost our 18 year old daughter while riding as a passenger in a car wreck. It’s so very, very hard. I pray her friends and loved ones will reach out to them, not just now, but for the weeks, months, and years ahead. They are gonna need you.
