Featured Job: Diabetic Educator-Part Time (Benefited)

The Diabetes Educator identifies patient needs and priorities for education used on assessment. Patient population includes those from small children to the elderly. The educator plans, implements and evaluates all programs and services administered by the Diabetes Control Center. The educator coordinates the educational care between other professional disciplines as needed.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

Education: Prefer a degree from an accredited college or university.  Require dietetic registration and licensure or nursing licensure within provisional period.  Must be a Certified Diabetes Educator.

Experience:  2 years experience in the field of diabetes care and education is preferred. RN with experience in Diabetes Education.  CDE preferred.  Ability to asses, plan and implement diabetes care per provider order and speak in front of large groups.

Additional Skills/Abilities:  Effective verbal and written skills. Ability to communicate with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
