ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies have caught a man they were looking for in a wooded area on Pleasant Grove Cutoff Road.

The ordeal started after a call to 84 Mildred Lane in Albertville for a domestic dispute.  This was around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sheriff Scott Walls said deputies were in the process of arresting the suspect, Cory Jacob Daniels, but Daniels assaulted a deputy and ran away.

He ran into a heavily wooded area between Pleasant Hill Road and Pleasant Grove Cut Off, according to the Sheriff’s Office. This area is near Bishop’s Landfill.

Deputies caught Daniels just after 12 p.m. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for dehydration.

Daniels faces charges of domestic violence by strangulation, assault 2nd (of a deputy sheriff), escape and resisting arrest.

The deputy’s injury is minor.

Several agencies helped in the search, including Albertville Police’s K9 Unit, Douglas Police, Guntersville Police and Alabama State Troopers.
