LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A semi truck rolled over early Saturday morning, sending one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened around 5:00 a.m on Highway 72 in Lauderdale County, just off Elm Drive in Killen.

A viewer tells WHNT News 19 highway 72 was closed for 2 hours and traffic was diverted.

The same viewer sent in  pictures from the accident. He says the driver was trapped after the roll over. Emergency crews had to free him from the truck.

He was taken to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. We don’t know the name of that driver just yet, but one picture shows the truck is locally owned out of Red Bay.

The truck was carrying mulch and potting soil. Rescue crews were still at the scene 3 hours later, cleaning up the mess with the help from the local EMA.
