Highway 53 Reopens After Fire

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters out of Huntsville responded to a structure fire at P&T Welding & Trailer.

Captain Frank McKenzie with Huntsville Fire and Rescue said the fire was mostly in the back of the building..

Firefighters say both lanes were closed due to the fire hydrant being on the opposite side of the road.

Lanes were closed for about an hour.

No one was hurt. They will continue to investigate what caused the fire.

I just wanted to comment on the fire of P&T trailers. I am surprised that it didn’t happen sooner. They have paint and chemicals being exposed throughout the shop on a regular basis. I have heard people say that work there ” When you build trailers for the City you can get by with cutting corners” This was the third time for the building to catch on fire. When you leave paint dust in 50 gallon drums it creates a situation for a fire.
