UAH Police Search for Sexual Assault Suspect

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – UAH Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman at the Louis Salmon Library parking lot on the UAH campus Wednesday evening.

A spokesman for UAH said a female student reported an unknown man approached her as she exited the Louis Salmon Library around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The student said the man asked her for a ride to his car, which she agreed to do.

Shortly after he entered her vehicle, she stated that he forcibly fondled her and exposed himself. She was able to stop in the Charger Union parking lot and force him out of her car.

The student was able to drive away unharmed. The suspect departed in an unknown direction, according to the spokesman.

UAH Police are actively investigating this reported crime and are looking for the suspect, as well as anyone who may have information about this incident.

The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, 5’9”– 6’2”, approximately mid-20s. He had scruffy facial hair and crew cut style hair. He was wearing tattered black cargo shorts and a dirty white tee shirt. The victim believes she scratched both sides of his face, according to the spokesman.
