KELSO, Tenn. (WHNT) - The owners of Elk River Canoe Rentals have heavy damage to their business from the April 28 tornadoes.

Over the past few days, neighbors and friends have been helping clear the land.  The office and campsite were destroyed, and half the canoes were blown away.

The owner, Ben Towry, and two friends were in the office when they got word a tornado was coming.  They were in their truck when it hit.

Despite the damage, they plan to reopen on Saturday, May 10. Please check elkrivercanoes.com for the latest.
