Serving God By Serving Their Fellow Man

CLEMENTS, Ala. (WHNT) – Sometimes, disasters have a way of bringing out the best in people. For example, the members of Limestone County’s Clements Baptist Church have rallied. They’re not only feeding about a thousand people a day, but they’re also collecting basic supplies for storm victims. The church members are doing all they can to help anyone in the community who has a need.

The lunchtime rush had just ended when we arrived Thursday afternoon. A moment for the volunteers to catch their breath, and phone ahead for additional supplies. On the other side of the room, a growing storehouse of food and other personal items, free to those who might need it.

Pastor Tim Anderson explains, “This area is growing. Between now and tomorrow there’ll be twice as much resources here, an opportunity to actually take care of the needs in the community.”

The church is feeding any and all who want or need a meal. Serving God by serving their fellow man.

Stacey Ridgeway is the Food Coordinator for the church. “Our goal is to feed a thousand every day and we’ve done that the past few days and we will do that for the days to come.”

“As long as the need is there?”

“As long as the need is there, we’ll be here.”

The church is accepting donations of non-perishable food items, personal hygene items, baby supplies, and monetary donations that will all be put to use in this community.

As far as monetary donations, Pastor Anderson says they have no administrative overhead, so 100% of what you give will go to help Limestone County residents.
