Man Driving Stolen Car Rams Sheriff’s Deputies

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WHNT) – A car stolen from a daycare in Scottsboro was wrecked after the person driving it rammed DeKalb County Sheriff patrol cars Friday afternoon.

James Wayne Floyd, 38, of Henager, is in custody and charged with Attempting to Allude and Receiving Stolen Property, according to police.

Authorities say Floyd stole a car from a daycare in Scottsboro and managed to drive all the way to Fort Payne. Section police caught Floyd speeding through the city toward Fort Payne and started chasing him.

Floyd made it to Fort Payne at the I-59 and Hwy 35 intersection, where DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies had blocked the road to try and stop him. According to those deputies, Floyd rammed their patrol cars.
