TUSUMBIA, Ala. (WHNT) – The magic of Hollywood is coming to the Shoals. “Through the Storm” is a faith-based film being produced and filmed in Tuscumbia.
The movie is about a young adopted girl, who is on a journey to find her biological parents but discovers much more.
Laura Ann Gray is the writer and director of the film. She says the movie is based on her life experiences
"It's not going to be your typical faith-based film. Of course there is not going to be anything in there that is not family friendly. But it was really hard to keep it that way. I want people to take out of this film that God is always protecting us. Even in ways we can't see or we want to see. That's one lesson that the main character of the film learns, God has certain people if our lives to protect us. Therefore we shouldn't go chasing after them,” said Gray.
The film is currently in production and is scheduled to be released in September. Gray says the film will hit Christian book stores and film festivals nationwide. If you’re interested in helping funding the film click here.
