April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Crisis Services of North Alabama (CSNA) strives to raise awareness with information and events.

The CSNA has a Facebook campaign called "It's Time... to Talk About It."   Everyday throughout April, CSNA will post statements of survivors, their supporters, or activists using their voice to advocate for social change.  Click here for more information.

Jeans for Justice Day is April 23rd.  In 1999  an Italian appeals court judge overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing jeans at the time of the rape.  The judge said it was impossible to remove someone’s jeans without that person’s consent.  Global protest followed and since then, thousands of people have worn jeans to work to help raise awareness of sexual assault.  Donate $1.00 to wear blue jeans on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.  Proceeds will go to CSNA’s Sexual Assault Response Program, which supports sexual assault victims here in Madison County.

As always, support is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
