Courtland Wreck: Driver of Car Dies in Collision with 18-Wheeler

COURTLAND, Ala. (WHNT) – The driver of a car died Friday morning after her vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.

The wreck happened just after 9 a.m. on Highway 20 at County Road 150 in Courtland.

The woman driving the car was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.  Police identified her as Yvonne Orr, of Courtland.  They did not give her age.

Her white car was crushed under the 18-wheeler’s rear wheels.

Police identified the truck driver as Corey Johnson of Atlanta.  He was not hurt.

Courtland Police are still investigating the circumstances.

      This was such a Horrific Accident, I am so very sorry to hear that Ms. Orr did not make it. I would like to say.. Their was several really Good Samaritans that tried so desperately to help. My sincere Condolences go out to Ms. Orr’s Family & Friends at this time. But I would also like to say “Thank You” to those who tried so desperately to help before Emergency Personnel could get to the scene. It’s good to know that their are some really Good People that still exist out there.
