Huntsville Police Department K9 Teams Take Top Dog Honors

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Canine handlers with the Huntsville Police Department’s Canine Unit brought home top honors at last week’s United States Police Canine Association in Rome, Ga.

The trials are certification events authorized the by the United States Police Canine Association.

The following canine handlers received awards during the trials, two of which are top dog honors.

Officer Cory Upton and his K9 Partner Boone – Top Dog Cup Patrol Dog, Overall number 1 Top dog, 1st place agility, 1st place apprehension

Officer William Gray and his K9 Partner C-4 – Top Dog Cup Explosives Detection 1st place overall

Officer Matt Saltzman and his K9 Partner Jaeger – 1st Place Patrol Scent (boxes and article search)
