The purpose of this position is to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Spacedome & Davidson Digital Theaters for guests and groups.  This position also ensures that all guests receive quality services and programs that reflect the Mission, Vision and Spirit of the USSRC.

 

Education: High school or GED and 2 years formal education or technical training (IMAX) beyond the high school level.

 

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years previous experience in the operation and maintenance of IMAX and related equipment or and equivalent combination of education and experience.  two to five years supervisory and management experience is required.  Must also possess a working knowledge of small electromechanical devices and related test and troubleshooting equipment.

Must be able to use a 101 key keyboard and possess knowledge of Windows based operating systems; including some basic associated software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet and ticketing/pos system).

 

This position has the following requirements:

  • Sitting for extensive periods of time (6-8) hours operating computer terminal and conducting business over the phone.
  • Standing for extensive periods to time (6-8) hours conducting business n premises and elsewhere.
  • Lifting, carrying, reaching supply boxes up to 50 pounds.
  • Feeling, seeing, wrist movements to operate computer terminal telephone, and handle documents.
  • Talking, hearing to conduct business in person and over the telephone, interact with customers and employees.

This position involves working in a climate controlled office environment.  This position deals extensively with customers, members and employees that interact with assigned area of responsibility.  This position will interact with small children.

Position Duties

 

IMAX & Davidson Digital Theaters

  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the VP of Aerospace Operations for the accurate and timely coordination of IMAX Theater & Davidson Digital functions and activities for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the VP of Aerospace Operations for the appearance, orderliness and organization of the theater and related areas.
  • Ensures that the X-PAND theater system and related equipment are being used and maintained to appropriate levels of quality and efficiency.
  • Meet or exceeds the expectations of the VP of Aerospace Operations for coordinating repair of projection and sound equipment with outside vendors.
  • Ensures that all performance schedules are properly recorded, reported and implemented.
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the VP of Aerospace Operations for negotiating and monitoring film contracts for the Space Dome & Davidson Digital Theaters.
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the VP of Aerospace Operations for handling royalty payments for the Space Dome & Davidson Digital Theaters.

 

2. DPI Digital Projector system

  • Operate the DPI projector in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that guests and employees receive quality service.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the DPI projector.
  • Maintain the DPI projector and related equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation.
  • Comply with USSRC safety procedures to ensure safety of guests and employees.

 

3. DTAC Sound system

  • Assist with the operation of the DTAC sound system in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that guests and employees receive quality service.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the DTAC sound system.
  • Maintain the DTAC sound system and related equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation.
  • Comply with USSRC safety procedures to ensure safety of guests and employees.

 

4.  Digital Sign Systems

  • Update and maintain the Digital Sign System equipment
  • Make changes to displayed text as requested by management

5.  Spacedome & Davidson Digital Organization and Staffing.

  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the V.P. Human Resources for employee selection, hiring, orientation and affiliation, evaluation and discipline.
  • Ensures that all employees receive timely, relevant and appropriate training.
  • Respond to and, whenever possible, resolve guest’s questions and complaints promptly and in a manner that reflects the spirit and mission of the USSRC.
  • Ensure that all areas of responsibility have adequate supplies and scheduled, rotating basis.
  • Responsible for completing & publishing work schedules for all temporary & full time staff in a timely manner.
