Tuscumbia Man Charged with Rape, Sodomy, Kidnapping

COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office has charged Anthony Ray McCullough with Rape 1st degree, Sodomy 1st degree, and Kidnapping 2nd degree after he sexually assaulted a a woman at his home Tuesday night.

McCullough, 47, of Tuscumbia, the victim, and McCullough’s neighbor were together at McCullough’s home on Mt. Spring Rd. Tuesday night. The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office says after the neighbor left, the victim rejected advances from McCullough. That’s when he physically assaulted her, sexually assaulted her, and would not let her leave his home under threat, the Sheriff’s Office says.

The next day, McCullough made the victim get dressed and go with him to the State Troopers Post to check on his commercial driver’s license. The victim was able to use McCullough’s cell phone to contact her mother to pick her up. She was taken to Hellen Keller Hospital.
