Decatur Police Lt. Richard Crowell Remembered

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Decatur Police officers said goodbye to one of their own Wednesday afternoon. Retired Police Lt. Richard Crowell passed away last week.

He served the citizens of Decatur for 30 years and was over the department’s investigative unit when he stepped down. He served his country as an Army sergent during the war in Korea. For many years he volunteered his time to help coach a girls youth softball team.

Dick leaves behind a wife, son, three daughters, and a grateful community.

Richard Crowell was 69.
