STEVENSON, Ala. (WHNT) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says a missing Tennessee man’s body was found in Stevenson.

A missing person report was filed in Franklin County, Tennessee earlier this week for 62-year-old John Demoll.

Demoll was last seen Tuesday morning.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies say Demoll was last seen traveling on Highway 41-A toward the town of Sewanee, Tennessee.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies say they found Demoll’s body in his car, dead from an apparent suicide on Wednesday.

Deputies say his car was found north of Stevenson on the side of a road.

His body is being transported to Tennessee for further investigating.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies say Demoll worked for the county’s sanitation department as a supervisor.

They also say he was under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Deputies could not comment as to why.

Jackson County Deputies are going to Tennessee Thursday to work on this case further.
