NEW MARKET, Ala. (WHNT) - This week's Tools for Teachers award winner is Michelle Jacks, a 14-year veteran English teacher at Buckhorn Middle School who is known for her enthusiastic approach to the job of educating.  Ms. Jacks makes learning so much fun, in fact, that over a dozen students wrote us hand-written letters to us, nominating her for this honor.

We surprised Ms. Jacks in the BMS library with 319 dollars to spend as she see fit in her classroom. This also gave those grateful students a chance to say thanks in person.

Ms. Jacks, like many teachers, hopes to have an impact on her students' lives that goes beyond just academics.

"I want them to leave my classroom knowing that everyone in our lives and in the world has something to contribute to someone else, " Jacks says. "No one is insignificant, no one is unimportant."

If you know a worthy teacher, coach, principal, or aide, tell us about them through the Tools for Teachers nomination form.
