One Dead After Single Vehicle Accident On Old Railroad Bed Road

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Toney Fire & Rescue confirms one person died after a single vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.

It happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Old Railroad Bed Road near Herbert Clark Road.

The Madison County Coroner says the vehicle driven by 73-year-old Thomas Campbell of Harvest struck a tree.  Campbell was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. He died at the scene.

Old Railroad Bed Road was closed for two hours while crews cleared the wreck.

The Alabama State Trooper’s Office is investigating the wreck.
