April is National Volunteer Month and if you’re looking to lend a hand in your community, but don’t know how to get started, you might try VolunteerMatch.org.

The website connects those looking to make an impact with causes in their local area. Just enter your city and state then a specific type of volunteer project. You can also browse several pre-established categories for opportunities. Categories range from “arts and culture” to “environment” to “hunger.”

Once you find a program you like, you’ll be asked to create a free account to connect with that organization.

VolunteerMatch.org also has a mobile app, so you can browse opportunities on the go.
