HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - In a world with growing tension among people who don't understand each other, the non-profit organization Asha Kiran is trying to foster a society of mutual compassion and respect in North Alabama.
Saturday, April 5th from noon to 6pm, the community is invited to the Trinity United Methodist Church for the compassion-building event entitled "A Ray of Hope."
That phrase is actually the translation of the name Asha Kiran, which is putting on this event for the 7th consecutive year.
The guest speaker is Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi, the Found Director of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values. He will speak on the topic of secular ethics, human values and society.
The event will feature all kinds of food vendors, and musical entertainment provided by The Huntsville Community Chorus and a few members of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.
This is a free event.
