3rd Annual ‘Empowering Our Veterans’ Event Focuses on Entrepreneurship and Jobs

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Calling all veterans, transitioning active-duty service members, and military spouses! The 3rd Annual Empowering Our Veterans event can help you be your own boss, assist you in finding the right job, and help you with your resume and interview technique.

Focused on entrepreneurship and employment, Empowering Our Veterans will have hands-on training sessions to give you the tools you need to start a business and secure financing and market with impact; dynamic workshops to deliver tips for strategy, networking, and interviewing skills for today’s market; and one-on-one tips from HR pros to help you be in front of the pack.

Empowering Our Veterans will be held on Friday, April 25, at the Redstone Federal Credit Union Technology Center located at 220 Wynn Drive in Huntsville.

Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Training workshops will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The keynote luncheon will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. with keynote speaker Joe Bongiovanni, general manager of Serra Toyota.

There will be a career fair and business expo from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. where attendees can put their skills to use right away! You will have the opportunity to network with companies seeking to recruit veterans for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The cost to attend for veterans, active duty and their spouses is free if you register in advance. The cost for the general public and non-veterans is $25 in advance and $50 day of.

You must pre-register online in order to reserve your space and to receive a lunch. Registration closes Monday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m.
