Huntsville Man Charged with Manslaughter for 2013 Wreck

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHTN) – Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Michael John Weatherwax, 56, of Huntsville on Thursday and charged him with manslaughter in connection to a deadly 2013 wreck.

Police say 38-year-old Marvin Jackson, of Macon, Ga.,  was killed after the motorcycle he was riding struck a Kia Rio driven by Weatherwax on June 30,2013 at around 1 a.m. It happened on Hwy 72, near the intersection of Academy Dr.

Police told us the driver of the Kia turned to travel south on Academy Dr, crossing into the path of Jackson’s motorcycle.

Weatherwax is currently being held in the Madison County Metro Jail with a $60,000 bond.
