This position supports and advances the mission and goals of the organization. The Coordinator is accountable for the day to day operations of the Madison Hospital Emergency Department. Supervises, coaches, and evaluates unit staff. Promotes collaborative practice with physicians and other departments. Collaborates with the Clinical Operations Manager to resolve personnel, patient, and unit issues and mentors and develops the unit/shift team.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Must have a current Alabama nursing license. BSN preferred.
Minimum of one-year experience as a staff nurse in an emergency department in which supervisor and administrative abilities have been demonstrated.
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have knowledge of all equipment and materials required for procedures described in the Emergency Services Policy/Procedure Manual and Nursing Service Procedure Manual. BCLS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, JCAHO and department specific competencies must be maintained. Must be able to become proficient in use of pre-hospital radio equipment and poisondex. BCLS must be obtained within the orientation period. ACLS must be obtained within the orientation period.
