(WHNT/WQAD) – The child’s toy doll “My Sweet Love,” also known as “My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Doll,” has been recalled after reports of burns and blisters from people handling the doll.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the dolls, which come with a toy medical kit, sold for about $20 at Walmart stores across the U.S. between August 2012 and March 2014. About 174,000 of the dolls have been sold.
“My 3-year-old grandson picked up the baby and he threw it and said that baby bit me. I grabbed the baby and I smelled it and I was like, this baby’s on fire,” Julia Sird told WQAD.
“My Sweet Baby” is printed on the front of the clear plastic and cardboard packaging. The recalled dolls have a package UPC code of 6-04576-16800-5. A date code beginning with WM is printed on the label sewn into the bottom of the doll.
Consumers should immediately take the dolls from children, remove the batteries and return the doll to any Walmart store for a full refund, according to the CPSC.
