HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Botanical Garden brings the beach to Huntsville, along with some other fun Spring Break activities.
Spring Break at the Huntsville Botanical Garden is Saturday, March 22 through Saturday, March 29, with activities for your family during the break.
The Garden prepares for sand and lots of it — 25 tons to be exact! All that sand will become a custom-made sculpture throughout the week thanks to sand artists from the Sand Sculpture Company. Visitor can expect to see a little of the 2014 exhibit, Alice’s Garden of Wonders, in the display. The sculpture will be carved at the Garden starting on the 22nd and will be finished a week later. Visitors will be able to see the piece as it unfolds throughout the week. The finished product will stay on display in the Huntsville Botanical Garden till the end of April.
Visitors young and old can also expect to see and be a part of interactive, engaging activities.
Activities for children will take place every day during the Garden’s Spring Break from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Some of those activities include building sand castles, creating fairy gardens with a touch of a beach Spring Break, digging for dinosaur bones and more.
The Southeastern Raptor Center will be at the Garden Wednesday, March 26, for two shows. The first one is at 11 a.m., the second is at 1 p.m. Tickets for those shows are $2 for non-members of the Huntsville Botanical Garden.
