PIEDMONT, Ala. (WHNT) – Police in Piedmont say a man reported missing earlier this week has been found in Mississippi. He is safe.
Freddie Perry was originally due to return home from a trip to Tennessee on Saturday evening, March 1. Piedmont is in northeast Alabama, southeast of Gadsden.
Police said Tuesday afternoon that Perry was found in Mississippi.
Police say it appears Perry became lost and ended up in an area that he was not familiar with near Electric Mills, a small area in eastern Mississippi near the Alabama line.
Mr. Perry is a popular math teacher at Piedmont High School. A Facebook group called “Pray for Freddie Perry” was set up to offer support during his disappearance.
Piedmont Police say they don’t have many specific details right now but say they are working to make sure Perry gets home safely.
