Firefighters Respond to Overnight House Fire in East Limestone

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire on the 1200 block of Quartz Circle on Thursday morning.

Crews responded to the home just south of Highway 72, near Burgreen Road, around 4:00 a.m.

Firefighters from Madison and East Limestone worked for about an hour and a half to extinguish the fire.

We’re told no one is living in the home and passersby saw the fire and called 911.

Crews remained on the scene for about three hours.

Utility crews are now dealing with power outages in the subdivision and nearby areas. They have not confirmed in the outages are related to the fire. Officials say the outage spreads east toward Huntsville, including the Copperfield subdivision. Utility workers are trying to locate the cause of the outage and make repairs.

I hope the fire marshall (or police) investigate the cause of this fire very closely…(I am not insinuiating that they havent, or won’t.) There was another fire in East Limestone just a few weeks ago that also happened in the middle of the night. The (other) house was also unoccupied, with the electricity turned off at the residence. As a long-time resident of East Limestone, I find this odd… Hopefully, it is just a strange coincidence

There was a 5 acre field fire in the Toney / Elkmont area off Bethel rd. and Old School House last night. 100 ft. flames in a massive land fire. I have not seen it reported on any news channel.

This house had just been remodeled after punks broke in trashed the place and painted gang symbols on the wall. I know the owner of this house.
