Hearing Date Set for For Huntsville Men Charged With Sexual Abuse and Torture
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Carl Phillip Herold and Charles Dunnavant will go before a Madison County judge on April 16 for their preliminary hearing for charges filed against both men accusing them of holding a young boy captive to produce child pornography.
Carl Philip Herold is charged with the production and distribution of child pornography, sodomy, sexual abuse, aggravated child abuse, complicity sexual abuse and complicity sodomy. He is accused of videotaping and photographing a nude 9-year-old who was being sodomized and sexually tortured.
His original hearing was continued due to the winter weather affecting the Tennessee Valley last week.
Herold’s domestic partner, Charles Dunnavant, faces charges child sex abuse, sodomy, sexual torture and aggravated child abuse.
Dunnavant, who is from the Tennessee Valley, worked as a loan officer for Redstone Federal Credit Union until the investigation began in early November, Madison County Assistant District Attorney Gabrielle Helix said.
Both men are being held on $1 million cash-only bonds.
