LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman is recovering after she was involved in a one-vehicle wreck early Thursday morning.

The crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Highway 72, near Glaze Road. That’s just west of Athens. Clements Volunteer Fire Crews, Limestone County Deputies, and Athens Police all responded to the wreck.

Deputies say the driver left the road and rolled the PT Cruiser several times. The vehicle ended up lodged between two trees. The driver was trapped inside her car for about 15 minutes.

Paramedics say the driver was conscious and talking to them as they freed her from the car. Authorities transported her to Huntsville Hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency crews closed a portion of Highway 72 westbound for about an hour as they worked to clear the area. The road has since been re-opened.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the cause of the wreck.

Shes in Huntsville Hospital ICU. She in and out of conciousness. The doctors say there is a good chance she will make it though she does have major injuries incuding bleeding on the brain, many breaks in the pelvis region and several open wounds including staples in her knee. During a short moment o conciousness she was unable to tell the doctors what year or answer certain questions. Plz pray for her husband and her two boys!
