Guntersville, Ala. – (WHNT) 56 of the best anglers in the world are on Lake Guntersville this week getting ready to compete in the 2014 Bassmaster Classic. The field is allowed only a select few days to pre-fish the lake before competition begins Friday February 21st. This is the time when bass fishers pick out their preferred spot to fish come tournament time. The only issue is temperatures are expected to be around 20 degrees warmer during this upcoming weekend’s even than they were during the last three practice sessions. Higher air temps lead to higher water temps, which cause the fish to act differently and swim at different depths. Anglers will have one more round of practice Wednesday February 19th in temperatures similar to the one they will be competing in. This final session will be held under conditions most similar to the ones during tournament time, which makes this upcoming practice very, very important.
