Firefighters Hampered by Location of Hydrant While Fighting Fire
SPEAKE, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters from two different departments responded to a home on County Road 188 in Lawrence County around 10:00 Sunday night.
By the time the firefighters got to the home, it was already fully involved.
The closest hydrant was three miles from the home, so fire crews had to shuttle water to the home.
No one was inside the home when the fire started. Firefighters say the homeowner had been doing some work on the home in the days leading up to the fire.
Firefighters from Speake and Moulton Fire Departments responded to the fire.
