    • Fred says:

Some business’ are too greedy to care about employee safety.
Bridgestreet is not on the list even as a delay :(

      • Sam says:

I’ve discovered that there are some stores open out at Bridge Street!

      • DaMeglet says:

They can’t legally fire you if local authorities advise people to not travel. Call them and record it. If your employer refuses to be liable for any losses you may sustain while travelling against the advisement of local authorities to your workplace, refuse to travel. I doubt one day’s wages will pay for the damages to your car if you lose control and have an accident. And they’re selfish as hell if they expect you to risk getting stranded, further tying up the city’s resources while they rescue you.

      • BSt0rms says:

Also your insurance does not cover you if you wreck/cause damage while driving on closed rooms.

  • Florence city schools closed.

  • Pffft says:

Wow, yeah, lets everybody open at the same time so we can have a situation like Atl had with EVERY one out on the roads at the same time.

  • Marilynn Irvin says:

Has Qualitest Pharmaceuticals reported delays or closing?

HEY, HOW ABOUT TALKING ABOUT ROAD CONDITIONS IN HUNTSVILLE. I couldn’t care less about Florence and Dekalb.
What is the condition of the parkway? what about 565 ? Every single new break has been about dekalb or half way to Birmingham or florence.

  • Greg Bobo says:

If you are counting on going to best buy in Huntsville today they are closed.

  • alafan2010 says:

My mail carrier just delivered my mail. Why is it the mail carrier can drive on the roads and make 1000 stops but the courthouse, senior centers, meals on wheels are closed? I understand private business closing to keep people off the road but the Public service organizations and most government organizations? Most of Huntsville Hospital?

For The People Asking About Certain Businesses Being Open…Yall Are Stupid! If They Haven’T Listed It Then Obviously They Haven’t Received Info On Them Yet

    • Windy says:

Ok people there is no call to be ugly and call people stupid these are all legitimate concerns and not all companies will close or have the decency to report their closings so PLEASE BE KIND

    • DaMeglet says:

Bone up on your grammar AND your common sense, Isadumbell!

    • Sam says:

We were not asking WHNT about specific business closings, we were asking individuals who were commenting about whether they knew if specific businesses were open. Telling someone they are stupid is as bad as saying ya’ll instead of all of you.

  • Emilie Davis says:

    Will Wal Mart be open?

  • what about Albertville quality foods

  • Wayne Farms-Decatur has closed the live plant, but the Further Processing plant, which happens to be right around the corner…is open??? That makes absolutely NO sense!

•_• Help! Help! Its the apacolypse of the Ice Age. We are all gonna die!!!!!!!! Lol!

How to survive the Ice Age?

    1. Breathe deeply. Count to 10.
    2. Now, before leaving to go to work, hospital or other ESSENTIAL business ONLY, pickup up the stinking phone and call them to verify their open.
    3. Destination Not open? Great stay home and enjoy you hoarded stash of milk, eggs, bread, mayo, and pbj.
    4. Destination is open? Hmmm.
    5. Do you have experience driving in ice and snow?
    6. No experience? Stay Home!!
    7. Experienced. Is it life or job threatening enough to risk getting hit by one of the other dingbats out there with no experience. If not, stay home. If it is; leave early give yourself twice the amount of time it normally requires. Check to see which roads are closed, drive defensively and Godspeed.

  • Wendy says:

Madison County Health Department is closed on Wednesday, 02/12/2014

  • Richard Thornton says:

Never, ever—-PANIC Especially after listening to the weather report. Beware of information overload.

  • Rhonda says:

Does anyone know if Patsy’s Cut, Curl up and Dye Beauty Shop is open today in Jackson County? Hate to drive all the way for an appointment in this rain. What time is snow coming?

  • Tron says:

Any tanning salons open? I am fading in all this snow.

  • Hville Sukcs says:

This is the most REDICULOUS thing ever. 35degs with rain and people LOSE THEIR MINDS. I’m also SICK and TIRED of all these senseless school cancellations and delays in Madison Co. just bc “it’s cold outside” or “it may rain”. Some parents do have careers and jobs…don’t have time report to late work 2/3 times a week just bc IT IS COLD.

    • Dawn Lanier says:

Sir, speaking as a northerner who moved here some 22 years ago, Huntsville does not ‘suck’. We live in a valley…the weather conditions are unpredictable and erratic, due to our low elevation, and other factors. What sayeth you now, since I am sure you are looking at the same white powdery stuff all of us see now. The catch is, they may not have known WHEN, but they knew it was coming! Don’t be so quick to put the southern forecasters down…they did the best they could under such circumstances!

      • DaMeglet says:

Thank you. I bet that dude’s looking around today and feeling like a nitwit. And he is. Hey, Hsv Sucks, YOU SUCK! AND YOU’RE A NITWIT!!

      • My Two Cents says:

So why do they close everything down before the first snow flake has even fallen? Wait until the weather is here before shutting down. Since Hsv government and all departments were shut down Wednesday because they thought the storm would be here but wasn’t until Wednesday night we now will be paying overtime to sanitation workers to make up for the day they couldn’t work because it rained.

    • Rachhh123 says:

Maybe because last time school systems didn’t cancel school there was complete madness, at least in Albertville. Also, Governer Bentley declared the whole state of Alabama a state of emergency, and it is snowing, so therefore there is no need to have school when there is even a chance of someone getting in a wreck. Okay? Okay.

    • REDICULOUS? Please don’t cancel school. People are not learning how to spell!

    • DaMeglet says:

Do you feel like a nitwit today? Because you certainly look like one!

  • Curious says:
