HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Members of the Huntsville city council will be on hand tonight to answer questions about the city’s $241 million budget. The council approved that budget back in September.

Huntsville city council finance committee chairman Bill Kling and councilman Will Culver will be conducting the open forum in concert with finance director Randy Taylor. The city budget is actually up about 4% this year

Bill Kling explains the forum is the first of its kind for the council.

“Councilman Culver and I from the finance committee got together and we decided let’s  put all the city finances out for the public, we’ll give a brief overview and then we’re going to let the public ask questions because it’s their tax money and they have a right to know how their money is being spent,” Kling explains.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the city municipal building on Fountain Circle.
