HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A domestic disturbance that ended with the shooting death of a man has been ruled self defense by investigators.
Huntsville Police Spokesman Harry Hobbs told WHNT that the person who shot 33-year-old Timothy Latrell Derrick on Jan. 25 acted in self defense.
“It is clear from the evidence that [name redacted by WHNT], the person that shot and killed Timothy Derrick, was in fear for her life and the shooting was in self-defense. Our investigator collected all of the evidence and met with representatives of the District Attorney’s Office. Based upon the evidence, it was determined that [name redacted by WHNT] acted in self-defense,” said Hobbs.
Police have not released the details of what sparked the domestic disturbance.says
