Hartselle Computer Business Damaged in Overnight Fire
HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A police officer patrolling in Hartselle called firefighters to Superior Computer Technologies on Highway 36 around midnight Monday after noticing smoke coming from the building.
Fire investigators have not yet been able to find a cause for the blaze that left most of the structure destroyed.
Flames were shooting out of the roof by the time firefighters arrived at the computer repair shop. Firefighters closed down Highway 36 while fighting the fire for the hoses and other equipment running across the street.
Owner Jonathan Raper says the building was very special to him. It was actually his mother’s childhood home he converted into his business around five years ago. The owner bought the home when his grandparents passed away.
He also tells us he typically backs up the computers he was working on at an off-site location. So even if the computers were damaged in the fire, the information from the computers should still be OK.
