HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Huntsville man convicted in December on rape and sodomy charges will serve life in prison.

Our news partners, The Huntsville Times/Al.com, report Madison County Circuit Judge Jim Smith sentenced James Bradford Skiles, 44, on two counts of first-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree rape.

The victim was 12 years old at the time the incidents started. Skiles was dating her mother, and took care of the girl and her brother while the mother was in jail.

The girl asked prosecutors to push for the maximum sentence, a life term for each count. Smith sentenced Skiles to three life terms, to run concurrently — at the same time.

The girl and her brother have been adopted by another family and now live in another state, Al.com reports.

That’s an interesting suggestion Wesley. But why stop there? Why not save the state a LOT of money and execute every person in jail for murder or other crimes against children? Sure, there may be a small number of innocent folks executed, but that’s something that we can live with.

If the proof is there and obviously it is he deserves whatever he gets! Preying on children because he can get away makes me sick!! Whatever happens in prison to him-maybe some guy(s) will take advantage of him. What a shame-oh yeah that is what he did to kids. What goes around comes around. Or he could be found hanging……… child rapists are not popular in prison.
