MOULTON, Ala. (WHNT) – Moulton’s main intersection was blocked by an overturned 18-wheeler for much of Tuesday morning.
Around 8:15 a.m. a truck headed north on Highway 157 attempted to turn right onto Highway 24. Police say he was going too fast, though, and his truck and trailer turned onto their side.
The trailer was carrying 40,000 pounds of weight lifting equipment.
Paramedics treated the driver on the scene, but he was not taken to a hospital.
Moulton Police and Moulton Fire worked to get the truck back on its wheels and had to block off the intersection of Highways 157 and 24 for about three hours, especially eastbound traffic on Highway 24.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. The scene was clear shortly after 11 a.m.
