DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. – A Sheltie mix named Peanut is safe and warm after being found frozen to the ground in sub-zero temperatures in the backyard of a home in Indiana.

Deputies found the dog after responding to a tip, according to 14 News. Peanut’s stomach, feet and tail had frozen to his pen. Rescuers had to pour warm water over him to free him. No charges have been filed against Peanut’s owner.

Peanut and another dog were taken to the Dubois County Humane Society.
