DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) - Two state inmates are back in custody after escaping from the Decatur Work Release Facility earlier this week.

The Alabama Department of Corrections said Kevin Lee Hardie and Dallas Antonio Long were caught around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Boligee, Alabama.  That’s in Greene County, in the western portion of the state.

Hardie and Long were arrested without incident at a BP Service Station.  They were taken to the Greene County Detention Center in Eutaw.

Neither man was accounted for Tuesday morning at his assigned work area.  The search for both inmates began soon afterward.

Long was sentenced in 2006, and was serving time for first-degree robbery in Elmore County. Hardie is serving time for theft, and was convicted in Walker County in 2012.

it would help if we knew where they were when they escaped and what direction they were headed in.

They’ll be back in within a few weeks with some extra time added on for escape. For whatever reason they escaped I hope it was worth it. Folks that escape generally get caught within a reasonable amount of time.

Just gotta ask…how did they manage to make it to Boligee? Someone had to take them or give them a vehicle…
