The Better Business  Bureau has some timely advice to protect you from Identity Theft during Tax Time.

The IRS will never text or e-mail you asking for personal information.  Beware of ploys that coerce you to click on a link.  Those links will likely download a virus or spyware to your computer that will compromise your ID.

Limit giving out your Social Security Number and other personal information.  Dispose of mail and other personal documents with a crosscut shredder before throwing away or better yet take advantage of Shred Day.

Always use a legitimate tax preparer and remember that there is a delay this year.  Don't file your taxes until after January 31st.
