UPDATE: All Power Restored in Limestone County

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Athens Utilities has restored power to all customers who lost it Tuesday, January 7 due to two substations going down.

At the peak of the outage, 4,000 customers were without power that morning.  Crews worked throughout the day to restore service.

The majority of the outages were because of two substations going down, one at Mount Rozell in the Owens community starting at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday and another at Poplar Creek (Clements area) at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday.

There were also scattered outages.
