Valleywx.com: Snow Possible Thursday Afternoon

Clouds hold on today, but look for a mostly sunny sky through the afternoon with milder readings. Expect middle 40s later today. If you are heading out for New Year’s Eve, bundle up. Temperatures will likely be in the 30s under a clear sky.

More Rain/Snow Possible Thursday: We had a brief round of light snow/rain on Monday evening and another bout of that is possible on Thursday. We have cold air moving in from the northwest and moisture gathering to our south at the same time. Both models show wintry precipitation developing Thursday around midday and lasting through the afternoon. Light snow is possible across the Tennessee Valley with minor accumulations according to one model.

Bottom Line: Check back with WHNT News 19 and Valleywx.com for the latest updates. The timing of snow is still somewhat in question, and it’s something we’ll keep a close watch on as we get closer to Thursday.
