WHNT News 19 Makes 15th Trip to Sara Harris’ House in Arab for Christmas

ARAB, Ala. (WHNT)–  It’s a Christmas tradition here at WHNT News 19.   Every Christmas we visit the home of Sara Harris in Arab to see how she has decorated.   Every year she chooses a different country or culture and decorates her home with that theme.

The 15th version is now in the books.  You can watch above as Sara celebrates a Mexican Christmas.  Below we have provided you with the previous 14 World Christmas stories.    Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Our first story aired in 1999.  Former WHNT News 19 Sand Mountain Bureau Chief Trace Trylko started the tradition.

In the year 2000 Harris celebrated a Cajun Christmas.   This would be Trace Trylko’s last visit to Sara’s before moving back to his native Florida.

In 2001 Harris celebrated Christmas in Brazil.   This was also WHNT News 19′s Carson Clark’s first story with Sara.

In 2002, Harris celebrated an Irish Christmas.

In 2003, Russia took center stage at the Harris home.

2004 Sara decided to celebrate Christmas with an African theme.

In the year 2005, Santa probably felt right at home in Arab.   Sara Harris celebrated Christmas in Norway.

Sara’s family had to put on kilts in 2006.   The theme was Christmas in Scotland.

In 2007, Lasagna and Pizza were on the menu Christmas Eve.   Sara and her family celebrated an Italian Christmas.

2008 saw Sara and family celebrate a Spanish Christmas.   This was also the first story we shot in a wide screen format.

There were some different type foods on the table in 2009.   It was Christmas in Korea.

2010 saw something dramatically different.  For the first time viewers got to see Sara Harris’ Christmas world in High Definition.  This was the first story with Sara we shot in HD as she was celebrating Christmas in Greece.

In 2011 the Harris family went back to Asia.  It was Christmas in Thailand.

Finally, last year in 2012, Sara and her family celebrated Christmas in Egypt.
