HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The man accused as a co-defendant in connection with the case of a child sexual abuse victim who prosecutors say was held captive for eight months has had his bail raised to $1 million.

Charles Walker Dunnavant is charged with sodomy, sexual torture, aggravated child abuse and transmitting or exposing someone to a sexually transmitted disease, according to Assistant District Attorney Jason Scully-Clemmons.

Dunnavant is the domestic partner and co-defendant of Carl Harold. Herold, also being held on $1 million bond, is accused of videotaping and photographing a nude 9-year-old who was being sodomized and sexually tortured. Herold is charged with two counts of Sodomy 1st, Aggravated Child Abuse, and three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 12.

Both men remain locked up in the Madison County Detention Facility at this time. Bill Honea is on board of the Alabama Bail Bonding Association. Honea says a million dollar cash bond is rare and indicates a judge and prosecutor determined to keep the defendants in jail.

Dunnavant, who is from the Tennessee Valley, worked as a loan officer for Redstone Federal Credit Union until the investigation began in early November, Madison County Assistant District Attorney Gabrielle Helix said in court Monday.

“He has the means of travel, family out of state and some of the allegations are there was much travel in the lives of Dunnavant and Herold,” Helix said. “They held the child captive for eight months and there are no standards, taboos or lines this defendant and his co-defendant hesitated to cross.”

To look at pictures of these NON HUMANS is funny. They look afraid of what is going to happen to them. Wonder what they think the little kids felt when they were being tortured? Oh yeah-that was what the predators wanted to see. Pain and suffering and being degraded evidently sells big time. I am happy they have a million dollar bond!!! and I hope they end up like the freak that held the girls for 10 yrs. The world needs to erase these perverts from society permanently!

…and to think one worked at a bank dealing with the public everyday. He probably looked so dignified and nice. That is scary b/c they can act so normal! They also think they are the last ones anyone would suspect. See a kid you like with their mother and they have all the info-address,etc. That goes for any public job where the predator can get friendly with customers. Just hang them!

hanging is way to good for these folks.

Crimes against children are so heinous that accused pedophiles like Herold and Dunnavant, Sylvain Kustyan, Jerry Sandusky, Jimmy Saville, etc. must be apprehended before they have years to continue to destroy young lives. Savile, Sandusky, and Herold and Dunnavant are now out of the picture. But unfortunately, Kustyan, who has been formally charged with two counts each of 1st Degree Sodomy and Sexual Abuse of a ten-year-old little boy, fled to avoid imminent arrest. Kustyan, formerly of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Hermin/ Mazingarbe, France, as an English teacher, has led numerous groups of schoolchildren on trips to the US, the UK and Ireland. Pedophiles condemn their victims to a lifetime of emotional and psychological trauma and often permanent physical ailments as well. Since the average pedophile has 300 different victims in their lifetime and since the recidivism rate among pedophiles is virtually 100% and since there is no effective treatment and no known cure they must be stopped ASAP!
