Arrest Made in Four-year-old Murder Cold Case
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a four-year-old murder case.
Sheriff’s investigators say they’ve charged 29-year-old Mario Robinson in the case.
Investigators say he played a part in the August 2009 killing of Erik Hawkins on Coggins road in Ardmore.
The sheriff’s department says Robinson has has since bonded out of jail.
A department spokesman says they don’t want to give too much information about the case just yet.
“the fact that we’re anticipating more arrests and have more information coming on this case, we wouldn’t want to turn any of that loose at this time,” said madison county sheriff spokesman Sgt. Brian Chaffin.
The sheriff’s department says this does not appear to be a random incident. They believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.
