HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -Allies in the form of volunteer chaplains stand with the men and women behind the badge when they need someone to talk about the stress of the job.
The volunteer program began several years ago within the Madison County Sheriff’s office. Marcelo Gallardo says he knows how much stress police officers are put under daily, and he just wants to do something to help out.
“we can walk them through stuff, emotions and try to bring some sense to it all,” Gallardo added.
The chaplains have offered their services to the Gurley Police Department in the wake of police chief Buddy Deen’s death Thursday.
